PDO matrix threads
At Aesthetics On Point, I offer PDO (polydioxanone) matrix threads as part of my cosmetic medicine services. This treatment uses dissolvable threads placed under the skin to provide support and structure. Over time, the threads gradually break down and are absorbed by the body.
Why Some People Consider PDO Threads
People often explore PDO threads when they would like to address:
• Changes in skin firmness or support
• Concerns about contour or definition in areas of the face
• A general desire for refreshed skin appearance
What to Expect
During your consultation, I’ll talk you through:
• How the treatment is performed and what it involves
• Areas that may be suitable for PDO threads
• Potential benefits as well as risks, side effects, and recovery time
• What realistic outcomes might look like for you
Results vary between individuals, and no outcome can be guaranteed. I’ll always discuss your individual situation and suitability before recommending any treatment.
Safety and Considerations
PDO threads are a medical procedure and must be performed by a qualified practitioner. As with any cosmetic medicine, there are risks. Possible side effects may include swelling, bruising, tenderness, or irregularities under the skin. These generally improve as healing occurs, but I will provide full aftercare guidance.
Treatment may not be suitable if you:
• Are pregnant or breastfeeding
• Have certain medical conditions or skin infections in the treatment area
• Are taking medications that affect healing or increase bleeding risk
We will cover your medical history in detail during your consultation to ensure your safety.

about PDO Matrix Threads
What are they?
PDO Matrix Threads are made from a material called polydioxanone. If you have ever had any surgery and had internal sutures, it is likely to be exactly the same material.
How do they work?
PDO threads work by tightening and thickening your skin. The threads stimulate and induce the production of your own collagen, creating a skin tightening and firming effect. They are also naturally absorbed by the body and dissolve over time.
How long does it last?
The results will last anywhere from six months to 12+ months, depending on how your body responds to the treatment and the number of threads you have. The more threads, the more collagen will be stimulated and produced.
Cosmetic injectables are offered in our Brisbane location of Kangaroo Point, less than 5 minutes from Brisbane CBD.
